OOooooh, Dresses

So.  This really seems to be turning into a fashion blog.  It wasn’t supposed to be.  But one of my main passions is costuming.  Does that make me shallow?

*chuckles*  Wait…that’s right….I remember, I don’t care.  I love costumes, not because of the status they represent, but because of their beauty.  Because a well made costume can make you feel like a queen, even when you don’t feel like much of anything.

So I guess I’m okay with having a lot of posts about costumes on this blog, because they make me feel good and they are just a little bit of beauty in this world.  We need more beauty.

So here is more beauty: This shop is a lot of fun.  They don’t really have very many Victorian pieces (check out the Renaissance section, not really sure why they are there.) But they do have some fantastic Renaissance and Midieval sections with some fantastic dresses.  They have an extensive men’s section too.  Men get the shaft (no pun intended) when it comes to costumes and I am glad to see this store put some effort into their men’s selections.

I love the color of the blue dress.  Rich and stunning.  Check out their page for more.

Missing out

Sad Puppy watches the world go by

Yeah, so being broke and depressed makes for missing out on Neat Stuffs(tm).

Missed Comic-con, Dragon-con, Connie-con…all the good Conventions really.  Which is a shame because they were full of geeky goodness.  I’ve been purusing the lovely pictures everyone has taken, and have been feeling all sorts of left out.

To be expected really, when one didn’t actually GO to any of the cons.

However, there have been quite a few lovely, talented ladies that have wet my appetite…and some neat costumes as well!

Did any of my lovely and talented readers go?  If so, I would LOVE to hear about it!  I can live vicariously through you, can’t I?  *gives big puppydog eyes*

I’m so pretty, oh so pretty!

Alright, first off, check this stunning steampunk ensemble out:

Truely amazing.  I love the black dress, the texture of the fabric is fantastic.  The sleeve detail shows how much thought went into the construction.  The neckline is perfect for the model’s face.  Granted, in this dress I would spill all over the place, (I’ve got more cleveage…well, I’ve got more of everything really) but this is truly a fantastic dress.  I hardly even notice the boat in her hair.  Ok…That I’m not a fan of.  But I can over look that for the rest of the amazing costume.

But look at that necklace. *points* LOOK at it!

I’m a fan of corsets, and this…this just makes me drool.  Simple idea, elegant design.  Perfect.
